Vaisala Polaris™ PR53GC Compact Process Refractometer

The Vaisala Polaris PR53GC general-purpose compact process refractometer is engineered for measuring concentrations of various liquids such as acids, alkaline solutions, alcohols, hydrocarbons, and solvents. It is suitable for direct installation in pipelines and serves production, transport, and quality-control applications within the chemical and other industries. The PR53GC is a compact device offering over 500 different concentration curves, making it adaptable for a wide array of industrial uses. This refractometer is part of the Vaisala K-PATENTS® process refractometer series, building on 40 years of experience and continuous development to represent the latest generation of digital process refractometers.

  • Reliable Optical Measurement: Utilizes the refractive index (RI) for accurate concentration measurements. The RI can be measured in almost any liquid or slurry and is responsive to dissolved material. Measurements are not affected by bubbles, particles, or fibers in the process.

  • Easy Mounting: Features Type L clamp connections for direct installation into process lines. It can also be installed in a flange-mounted flow cell, allowing for an additional wash system if prism cleaning is necessary. Special alloy materials provide durability in challenging process conditions, with other custom solutions available.
  • Indigo520 Compatible: Can be directly interfaced or connected to a Vaisala Indigo520 transmitter. The Indigo520 provides data storage, a graphical interface, and analog and digital interfaces. The Indigo520 is essential for process control when washing is required by the application or installation. Settings and updates can be managed via the Indigo520 or Vaisala software with a USB cable.
